Alan is a self-taught artist. Since 2000, Alan has taught many beginning artists of different age and grade groups how to draw. Alan is in demand as a caricature artist for corporate events, high schools, graduations and weddings.

Anita's work has been influenced by her interest, education and career in biology; flowers, plants, mammals, birds and the  natural landscape are dominant themes in her work. Anita works in pencil, pen and ink, watercolour, pastels, acrylic and oil, as well as photography.

Brenda is a Metis Artisan who designs and makes custom moccasins, mukluks and hand-beaded jewelry. Brenda holds several classes throughout the year and works primarily in leather.

Mitten Key Ring Workshop

Jan Sims - Representing Pinawa Quilters
Come and visit the amazing Quilting Display being put on in the Hallway at the W.B. Lewis Business Centre at 24 Aberdeen Avenue during the Whiteshell Winter Arts Festival. There will be a number of fabric artists creating quilts, table runners, placemats, etc!

​The quilters will be hard at work on Saturday, February 9, 2019 between 1:00PM and 2:00PM.

Karly is a rural Manitoba artist who grew up outside of Beausejour. She then moved to Vancouver for her graphics and art training. Upon moving back and starting a family she also found her passion for letterpress printing and watercolour painting. She often utilizes whitespace and single colours or tones for her watercolour work, in a  minimalistic and modern style. 

Watercolour Cards Workshop

Join us for this free workshop making liquid watercolour cards geared towards Valentine's Day! Learn how to use liquid watercolours to paint floral and greenery wreaths with basic brush lettering, and use masking fluid to create negative space with colour washes. Adults only.

Metro Dmytriw and Kelly Klick will be hosting a free clay sculpture demonstration and workshop. Participants will be able to take home their own masterpieces made of air-drying clay.

Laya Crust, Artist
Laya Crust is an internationally recognized artist. Foremost a painter, Laya also creates hand-made artist books, ceremonial objects, presentation pieces for international organizations and architectural installations. Ms. Crust's work is in private collections throughout North America, Europe, the middle East and the Far East and has been presented to British Royalty, government dignitaries and philanthropists. Lian graduated the PrairieView School of Photography in downtown Winnipeg. She has been a photographer for a number of years and enjoys photographing different views and perspectives. Her subjects include photos of landscapes, animals, pets, buildings and start trails. Lian has been fortunate to travel to many parts of Canada and to numerous countries.

Rick has a deep respect for nature. As a retired Conservation Officer, he has had the opportunity to observe and understand the wilderness of all four corners of Manitoba. This is what inspires rick to create oil paintings representing wildlife, birds and landscapes in a classical realism style.

Stu is a photographer who shoots nature and scenics mainly in southern Manitoba and surrounding areas, but also in Canada and worldwide. He strives for pictures that show an aspect of something that would be only rarely or never visible to the observer such as unusual weather or lighting conditions, motion of clouds or water and photos of live insects and butterflies in the field showing more detail than can be seen with the naked eye. Wendy Thomasson
Wendy is a maker who creates everything from paintings to decorated cakes. A friend once showed her how to make mukluks and she has been creating leather art for over 30 years. In years past she would make slippers, mukluks and gloves for sale in order to afford Christmas gifts for her children and family. She credits this with helping to improve her fine motor skills following a bad car accident. Wendy puts her heart and soul into every pair of slippers she makes, taking particular pride in making custom bead designs. Every pair she makes is painstakingly hand stitched and beaded, using local leathers and furs.

Lewis Business Center in Pinawa, MB.  The Pinawa Art Gallery is an initiative of Pinawa Art 211 Inc., a local not-for-profit art group founded in 1989 by artists of the town wishing to develop and share their talents. The art group of today has expanded its reaches to include artists from numerous municipalities in and around the area. This active little group consists of many award winning artists, promotes art education and always has a community project in the works.
